Appointments

ALL CONSULTATIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT.

• Appointments can be made by telephone or in person at reception. The time allotted for consultation is, as a rule, 10 minutes.

• If you consider you need an urgent appointment do make this clear to a member of staff, who will, subject to the advice of the doctors, arrange an appointment for that surgery. We reserve a small number of appointments for such urgent matters.

• You will understand the difficult position reception staff may be placed in when surgeries are already heavily booked; please help them to help you - and all our patients.

• If you wish to speak to the doctor by 'phone, the best time is after 11.30am when he/she will usually have finished morning surgery.

• During the absence of one doctor his responsibilities are fulfilled by his partner or during holiday or professional leave a locum may be employed.

HOME VISITS

• If you are too poorly to attend the surgery a request for a home visit should, whenever possible be made before 11.30am.

• If you think an urgent visit may be required please do make this clear.

SURGERY OPENING HOURS

• The Health Centre is open on weekdays from 9:10 am until 6.30pm.

• The telephone is manned by a member of staff from 8:00am.

OUT OF HOURS

• In an 'out of hours' emergency please telephone 0845 408 8000.

• If you need to be seen by a doctor you may be asked to go to the primary care centre based at Musgrove Park Hospital

• If you are too unwell to attend you, will be visited at home.
