When We Are Closed

In the case of an emergency out of hours you can telephone:

• Telephone 0845 408 8000 for direct help and advice
• North Curry Health Centre on 01823 490505 and a recorded message will explain how to access help or advice.

NHS Direct

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

 

Practice Training Sessions

The practice is closed on the last Thursday of each month from 13:00 to 16:30 for staff training. Your doctors and the practice team need to keep up to date with the latest treatments and techniques. To do that they have to undergo continuous professional development and training. This is to benefit our patients and is compulsory for staff to retain their professional registration 

Like most other practices in Somerset, we have decided the best way to do this is to close the practice for half a day each month so that all staff can be trained together. This has been proven to be the most effective way of undertaking such training.

We recognize this could cause inconvenience to some patients so arrangements have been made to ensure all urgent and emergency cases are dealt with effectively.
